As part of Remai Modern's monthly Turnout series, guest Artist Gordon Monahan (Meaford, ON) will perform his landmark composition Piano Mechanics (winner of the 1984 CBC Young Composer Award).  In addition to the live performance, the evening will feature a reception and the unveiling of a new site-specific sound installation.  "At the piano, Gordon Monahan produces sounds we haven't heard before." -John Cage

Guest Artist Helen Pridmore (Regina, SK) will join members of the Strata Ensemble in the performance of newly composed film scores at the historic Roxy Theatre.  The works of filmmakers: Kolby Kostyniuk, Ella Mikkola, Marc Pelletier, and Lindsey Rewuski will be paired with newly composed scores from local composers: Kirsten Ewart, Steve Leidal, Tiess McKenzie, and Darren Miller.  $15 tickets are available at the Roxy Theatre and McNally Robinson.

Guest composer Annette Brosin (Böblingen, Germany) presents a special talk: Identity and Music - how understanding this connection changed my understanding of music.  Hosted by OUTSaskatoon, this talk is free of charge and is geared towards non-specialist audiences.

Local musicians will take inspiration from guest artist Gordon Monahan's (Meaford, ON) new site-specific sound installation in the riverview room of Remai Modern in the performance of their own work.  The fixed media of the Monahan work will be available to serve as accompaniment for newly composed and performed local responses.  Entrance is free with admission to the gallery.
